The Coming of the King!
(Written: July, 2014)

This webpage assumes faith by the reader that Christ Jesus is the ransom sacrifice provided by his Father. (Acts 4:12 & 4:8-12; Acts 2:29-36) It assumes belief Jesus came to the earth, died for our sins, and was resurrected to sit at God's right hand; awaiting the time for Christ to assume kingly power. (Luke 1:30-33; Ephesians 1:19‑23; Philippians 2:5‑11; 1 Cor 15:12-28) Followers of Christ believe, if we had lived years ago in the days of Abraham or King David, the thing we would have been looking for was for Jesus to appear as Messiah. (Many hoped and/or believed Jesus would establish his kingdom at that first coming in 29 CE. [Acts 1:6] He did not. [John 6:14-15]) In our day, we no longer look for the appearance of Jesus as Messiah or Christ; that has happened. In our period of time, the thing we should be looking for - the thing we need to be looking for, is the second appearance of the Christ: This time as reigning King. (Mat 26:63-64; 1 Cor 15:25-27) To that end, we want to understand all we can about what the Bible, and Christ Jesus himself, teaches about his second coming. This webpage is dedicated to that goal. Additional Information! (Heb 5:11-14) Identifying 1914 as the year God extended Christ's throne over the earth: In the mid to late 1800's, Bible scholars from several denominations pointed to 1914 as the coming year for the establishment of Christ's Kingdom over the earth [also marking the end of the Gentile times (Luke 21:24 of 22-28)]. Their arrival at that 1914 date is somewhat complex, and they began counting from 607 BCE

Luke 21:24
when Jerusalem with God's glorious earthly temple was destroyed.
[We are now witness to the installation of New Jerusalem with its eternal Temple. (Rev 21:1-4)]
Surviving captives were carried away to Babylon. In 607, then, the nation of Babylon became the first Gentile Nation to rule as a world power without an earthly Kingdom by God. That marked the temporary end of God's kingdom on earth, and the start of earthly rule by the Gentile nations: The start of the Gentile Times. (Psa 79:1; Luke 21:24 of 22-28) The Jews were later returned to their homeland, but they were no longer the ruling world power. The Jews were subservient to the Gentiles. Secular and Bible history proves that to be so. To understand when Christ would return to reestablish God's kingdom over the earth, (1 Cor 15:12-28) then, Bible students looked to a wonderful dream interpretation and prophecy given Daniel. The dream was that by Babylon's King Nebuchadnezzar. (Daniel 4:1-37) He saw in the dream a great felled tree which Daniel interpreted to indicate his kingdom which would be taken for a period of seven years, and then restored [remember: Babylon was the kingdom used by God to destroy his Jewish kingdom over the earth; because of the Jews own wickedness (Deu 9:4-6)]. That dream prophecy fell in it's first fulfillment on Nebuchadnezzar, as he did loose his sanity and kingdom for 7 years, but was then restored to the throne. The prophecy had a second and greater application to the restoration of God's kingdom over earth, (Rev 21:1-4) and to the end of the Gentile times [the end of the string of secular nations that have ruled since Nebuchadnezzar: Babylon, Media-Persia, Greece, Rome, England-America]. (Luke 21:24) Applying a formula Bible students from several denominations believed to be scriptural, to count forward from 607 when God's kingdom rule of the earth ended, they arrived at 1914 C.E. as being the year when God's rulership of the earth would be reestablished; thus beginning the eternal earthly rulership of God's Kingdom by his Christ: (1 Cor 15:12-28)

• You should realize and understand the difference Jesus drew between "The Great Tribulation" [from 1914 CE forward] (Mat 24:21-22; Mat 24:8-22) [the same as The "Tribulation of the Last Days"] and the notably different and lesser "Tribulation of 'Those' Days" [the first pangs of childbirth - from 607 BCE forward]. (Mat 24:6-22; Mat 24:8; Mat 24:29 of 29-31; Mat 24:3-8)
