Psalms 40:1-5 CEV . . .(A psalm by David for the music leader.) I patiently waited, LORD (יהוה), for you to hear my prayer. You listened (2) and pulled me from a lonely pit full of mud and mire. You let me stand on a rock with my feet firm, (3) and you gave me a new song, a song of praise to you. Many will see this, and they will honor and trust you, the LORD (יהוה) God. (4) You bless all of those who trust you, LORD (יהוה), and refuse to worship idols or follow false gods. (5) You, LORD (יהוה) God, have done many wonderful things, and you have planned marvelous things for us. No one is like you! I would never be able to tell all you have done.

He set me safely on a rock and made me secure. (3) He taught me to sing a new song, a song of praise to our God. Many who see this will take warning and will put their trust in the LORD (יהוה). (4) Happy are those who trust the LORD (יהוה), who do not turn to idols or join those who worship false gods. (5) You have done many things for us, O LORD (יהוה) our God; there is no one like you! You have made many wonderful plans for us. I could never speak of them all--- their number is so great!

Many will see this and worship. They will trust the LORD (יהוה). (4) Blessed is the person who places his confidence in the LORD (יהוה) and does not rely on arrogant people or those who follow lies. (5) You have done many miraculous things, O LORD (יהוה) my God. You have made many wonderful plans for us. No one compares to you! I will tell others about your miracles, which are more than I can count.

(3) And He put a new song of praise to our God in my mouth; many shall see and shall fear and shall trust in Jehovah (יהוה). (4) Blessed is the man who sets Jehovah (יהוה) as his trust, and does not turn to the proud, or to those who turn to a lie. (5) Many things have You done, O Jehovah (יהוה) my God; Your works of wonder and Your purposes toward us; there is none to set them in order to You; I will declare and I will speak; they are more than can be counted.
