Psalms 95:6-11 GNB Come, let us bow down and worship him; let us kneel before the LORD  ( יהוה ), our Maker! (7) He is our God; we are the people he cares for, the flock for which he provides. Listen today to what he says: (8) "Don't be stubborn, as your ancestors were at Meribah, as they were that day in the desert at Massah. (9) There they put me to the test and tried me, although they had seen what I did for them. (10) For forty years I was disgusted with those people. I said, 'How disloyal they are! They refuse to obey my commands.' (11) I was angry and made a solemn promise: 'You will never enter the land where I would have given you rest.' "

Today, if you will hear His voice, (8) do not harden your heart as in the day of strife, as in the day of testing in the wilderness. (9) When your fathers tried Me, they tested Me and they saw My work. (10) For forty years I was disgusted with this generation; and I said, They are a people who err in heart; and, They do not know My ways, (11) to whom I swore in My anger, They shall not enter into My rest.

If only you would listen to him today! (8) "Do not be stubborn like my people were at Meribah, like the time at Massah in the desert. (9) Your ancestors challenged me and tested me there, although they had seen what I had done. (10) For 40 years I was disgusted with those people. So I said, 'They are a people whose hearts continue to stray. They have not learned my ways.' (11) That is why I angrily took this solemn oath: 'They will never enter my place of rest!'"
