Matthew 22:11-14 CEV . . .When the king went in to meet the guests, he found that one of them wasn't wearing the right kind of clothes for the wedding. (Gal 3:27 of 26-29; Rom 13:14; Eph 4:20-24; 1 Cor 1:10-31) (12) The king asked, "Friend, why didn't you wear proper clothes for the wedding?" [Personal faith in Christ's words.] But the guest had no excuse. (13) So the king gave orders for that person to be tied hand and foot and to be thrown outside into the dark. That's where people will cry and grit their teeth in pain. (14) Many are invited, but only a few are chosen. (2 Chron 16:9; John 6:43-63)
The proper attire for all Christians is their public expression of faith (Rom 10:9-10) in the words of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Mal 3:16-4:3) Does God see that you are "wearing" your faith?
Matthew 22:11-14 GW . . ."When the king came to see the guests, he saw a person who was not dressed in the wedding clothes provided for the guests. (Gal 3:27 of 26-29; Rom 13:14; Eph 4:20-24; 1 Cor 1:10-31) (12) He said to him, 'Friend, how did you get in here without proper wedding clothes?' [Personal faith in Christ's words.] "The man had nothing to say. (13) Then the king told his servants, 'Tie his hands and feet, and throw him outside into the darkness. People will cry and be in extreme pain there.' (14) "Therefore, many are invited, but few of those are chosen to stay." (2 Chron 16:9; John 6:43-63)
Matthew 22:11-14 ESV . . ."But when the king came in to look at the guests, he saw there a man who had no wedding garment. (Gal 3:27 of 26-29; Rom 13:14; Eph 4:20-24; 1 Cor 1:10-31) (12) And he said to him, 'Friend, how did you get in here without a wedding garment?' [Personal faith in Christ's words.] And he was speechless. (13) Then the king said to the attendants, 'Bind him hand and foot and cast him into the outer darkness. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.' (14) For many are called, but few are chosen." (2 Chron 16:9; John 6:43-63)
Matthew 22:11-14 GNB . . ."The king went in to look at the guests and saw a man who was not wearing wedding clothes. (Gal 3:27 of 26-29; Rom 13:14; Eph 4:20-24; 1 Cor 1:10-31) (12) 'Friend, how did you get in here without wedding clothes?' [Personal faith in Christ's words.] the king asked him. But the man said nothing. (13) Then the king told the servants, 'Tie him up hand and foot, and throw him outside in the dark. There he will cry and gnash his teeth.' " (14) And Jesus concluded, "Many are invited, but few are chosen." (2 Chron 16:9; John 6:43-63)

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals. The Translations we quote are:
