Luke 23:39-43 NWT 39 But one of the hung evildoers [crucified on either side of Christ] began to say abusively to him: “You are the Christ, are you not? Save yourself and us.” 40 In reply the other rebuked him and said: “Do you not fear God at all, now that you are in the same judgment? 41 And we, indeed, justly so, for we are receiving in full what we deserve for things we did; but this [man] did nothing out of the way.” 42 And he went on to say: “Jesus, remember me when you get into your kingdom.” 43 And he said to him: “Truly I tell you today, You will be with me in Paradise.”
Reject badness and express faith in Christ,
even if it is with your last breath.
Don't get trapped among religious people,
as they debate their own doctrine. [Mat 15:7-9]
Read the words of Christ in the Gospels!
Luke 23:39-43 GW One of the criminals hanging there insulted Jesus by saying, "So you're really the Messiah, are you? Well, save yourself and us!" (40) But the other criminal scolded him: "Don't you fear God at all? Can't you see that you're condemned in the same way that he is? (41) Our punishment is fair. We're getting what we deserve. But this man hasn't done anything wrong." (42) Then he said, "Jesus, remember me when you enter your kingdom." (43) Jesus said to him, "I can guarantee this truth: Today you will be with me in paradise."
Luke 23:39-43 GNB One of the criminals hanging there hurled insults at him: "Aren't you the Messiah? Save yourself and us!" (40) The other one, however, rebuked him, saying, "Don't you fear God? You received the same sentence he did. (41) Ours, however, is only right, because we are getting what we deserve for what we did; but he has done no wrong." (42) And he said to Jesus, "Remember me, Jesus, when you come as King!" (43) Jesus said to him, "I promise you that today you will be in Paradise with me."
Luke 23:39-43 ESV One of the criminals who were hanged railed at him, saying, "Are you not the Christ? Save yourself and us!" (40) But the other rebuked him, saying, "Do you not fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? (41) And we indeed justly, for we are receiving the due reward of our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong." (42) And he said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom." (43) And he said to him, "Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise."

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals. The Translations we quote are:
