41 Therefore they took the stone away. Now Jesus raised his eyes heavenward and said: "Father, I thank you that you have heard me. 42 True, I knew that you always hear me; but on account of the crowd standing around I spoke, in order that they might believe that you sent me forth." 43 And when he had said these things, he cried out with a loud voice: "Lazarus, come on out!" 44 The [man] that had been dead came out with his feet and hands bound with wrappings, and his countenance was bound about with a cloth. Jesus said to them: "Loose him and let him go. 45 Therefore many of the Jews that had come to Mary and that beheld what he did put faith in him;

(41) So the stone was moved away from the entrance of the tomb. Jesus looked up and said, "Father, I thank you for hearing me. (42) I've known that you always hear me. However, I've said this so that the crowd standing around me will believe that you sent me." (43) After Jesus had said this, he shouted as loudly as he could, "Lazarus, come out!" (44) The dead man came out. Strips of cloth were wound around his feet and hands, and his face was wrapped with a handkerchief. Jesus told them, "Free Lazarus, and let him go." (45) Many Jews who had visited Mary and had seen what Jesus had done believed in him.

(41) After the stone had been rolled aside, Jesus looked up toward heaven and prayed, "Father, I thank you for answering my prayer. (42) I know that you always answer my prayers. But I said this, so that the people here would believe that you sent me." (43) When Jesus had finished praying, he shouted, "Lazarus, come out!" (44) The man who had been dead came out. His hands and feet were wrapped with strips of burial cloth, and a cloth covered his face. Jesus then told the people, "Untie him and let him go." (45) Many of the people who had come to visit Mary saw the things that Jesus did, and they put their faith in him.

(42) I was certain that your ears are at all times open to me, but I said it because of these who are here, so that they may see that you sent me. (43) Then he said in a loud voice, Lazarus, come out! (44) And he who was dead came out, with linen bands folded tightly about his hands and feet, and a cloth about his face. Jesus said to them, Make him free and let him go. (45) Then a number of the Jews who had come to Mary and had seen the things which Jesus did had belief in him.
