Isaiah 60:18-61:9 CEV . . .Violence, destruction, and ruin will never again be heard of within your borders. "Victory" will be the name you give to your walls; "Praise" will be the name you give to your gates. (19) You won't need the light of the sun or the moon. I, the LORD (יהוה) your God, will be your eternal light and bring you honor. (20) Your sun will never set or your moon go down. I, the LORD (יהוה), will be your everlasting light, and your days of sorrow will come to an end. (Rev 21:1-4) (21) Your people will live right and always own the land; they are the trees I planted to bring praise to me. (22) Even the smallest family will be a powerful nation. I am the LORD (יהוה), and when the time comes, I will quickly do all this.
Isaiah 61:1-9 CEV . . .The Spirit of the LORD (יהוה) God has taken control of me! The LORD (יהוה) has chosen and sent me to tell the oppressed the good news, to heal the brokenhearted, and to announce freedom for prisoners and captives. (2) This is the year when the LORD (יהוה) God will show kindness to us and punish our enemies. The LORD (יהוה) has sent me to comfort those who mourn, (3) especially in Jerusalem. He sent me to give them flowers in place of their sorrow, olive oil in place of tears, and joyous praise in place of broken hearts. They will be called "Trees of Justice," planted by the LORD (יהוה) to honor his name. (4) Then they will rebuild cities that have been in ruins for many generations. (5) They will hire foreigners to take care of their sheep and their vineyards. (6) But they themselves will be priests and servants of the LORD (יהוה) our God. The treasures of the nations will belong to them, and they will be famous. (7) They were terribly insulted and horribly mistreated; now they will be greatly blessed and joyful forever. (8) I, the LORD (יהוה), love justice! But I hate robbery and injustice. My people, I solemnly promise to reward you with an eternal agreement. (9) Your descendants will be known in every nation. All who see them will realize that they have been blessed, by me, the LORD (יהוה).
Isaiah 60:18-61:9 GW . . .No longer will you hear about violence in your land or desolation and destruction within your borders. You will call your walls Salvation and your gates Praise. (19) The sun will no longer be your light during the day, nor will the brightness of the moon give you light, But the LORD (יהוה) will be your everlasting light. Your God will be your glory. (20) Your sun will no longer go down, nor will your moon disappear. The LORD (יהוה) will be your everlasting light, and your days of sadness will be over. (Rev 21:1-4) (21) Then all your people will be righteous, and they will possess the land permanently. They will be the seedling I have planted, the honored work of my hands. (22) The smallest of them will become a family. The weakest of them will become a mighty nation. At the right time I, the LORD (יהוה), will make it happen quickly."
Isaiah 61:1-9 GW . . .The Spirit of the Almighty LORD (יהוה) is with me because the LORD (יהוה) has anointed me to deliver good news to humble people. He has sent me to heal those who are brokenhearted, to announce that captives will be set free and prisoners will be released. (2) He has sent me to announce the year of the LORD (יהוה)'S good will and the day of our God's vengeance, to comfort all those who grieve. (3) He has sent me to provide for all those who grieve in Zion, to give them crowns instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of tears of grief, and clothes of praise instead of a spirit of weakness. They will be called Oaks of Righteousness, the Plantings of the LORD (יהוה), so that he might display his glory. (4) They will rebuild the ancient ruins. They will restore the places destroyed long ago. They will renew the ruined cities, the places destroyed generations ago. (5) Foreigners will come forward and become shepherds for your flocks, and children of foreigners will work your fields and vineyards. (6) You will be called the priests of the LORD (יהוה). You will be called the servants of our God. You will consume the wealth of the nations. You will boast in their splendor. (7) You will receive a double measure of wealth instead of your shame. You will sing about your wealth instead of being disgraced. That is why you will have a double measure of wealth in your land. You will have everlasting joy. (8) I, the LORD (יהוה), love justice. I hate robbery and wrongdoing. I will faithfully reward my people's work. I will make an everlasting promise to them. (9) Then their offspring will be known among the nations and their descendants among the people. Everyone who sees them will recognize that they are the descendants whom the LORD (יהוה) has blessed.
Isaiah 60:18-61:9 NWT . . .“No more will violence be heard in your land, despoiling or breakdown within your boundaries. And you will certainly call your own walls Salvation and your gates Praise. 19 For you the sun will no more prove to be a light by day, and for brightness the moon itself will no more give you light. And Jehovah (יהוה) must become to you an indefinitely lasting light, and your God your beauty. 20 No more will your sun set, nor will your moon go on the wane; for Jehovah (יהוה) himself will become for you an indefinitely lasting light, and the days of your mourning will have come to completion. (Rev 21:1-4) 21 And as for your people, all of them will be righteous; to time indefinite they will hold possession of the land, the sprout of my planting, the work of my hands, for [me] to be beautified. 22 The little one himself will become a thousand, and the small one a mighty nation. I myself, Jehovah (יהוה), shall speed it up in its own time.”
61:1 The spirit of the Sovereign Lord Jehovah (יהוה) is upon me, for the reason that Jehovah (יהוה) has anointed me to tell good news to the meek ones. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to those taken captive and the wide opening [of the eyes] even to the prisoners; 2 to proclaim the year of goodwill on the part of Jehovah (יהוה) and the day of vengeance on the part of our God; to comfort all the mourning ones; 3 to assign to those mourning over Zion, to give them a headdress instead of ashes, the oil of exultation instead of mourning, the mantle of praise instead of the downhearted spirit; and they must be called big trees of righteousness, the planting of Jehovah (יהוה), for [him] to be beautified. 4 And they must rebuild the long-standing devastated places; they will raise up even the desolated places of former times, and they will certainly make anew the devastated cities, the places desolate for generation after generation. 5 “And strangers will actually stand and shepherd the flocks of YOU people, and the foreigners will be YOUR farmers and YOUR vinedressers. 6 And as for YOU, the priests of Jehovah (יהוה) YOU will be called; the ministers of our God YOU will be said to be. The resources of the nations YOU people will eat, and in their glory YOU will speak elatedly about yourselves. 7 Instead of YOUR shame there will be a double portion, and instead of humiliation they will cry out joyfully over their share. Therefore in their land they will take possession of even a double portion. Rejoicing to time indefinite is what will come to be theirs. 8 For I, Jehovah (יהוה), am loving justice, hating robbery along with unrighteousness. And I will give their wages in trueness, and an indefinitely lasting covenant I shall conclude toward them. 9 And their offspring will actually be known even among the nations, and their descendants in among the peoples. All those seeing them will recognize them, that they are the offspring whom Jehovah (יהוה) has blessed.”
Isaiah 60:18-61:9 GNB . . .The sounds of violence will be heard no more; Destruction will not shatter your country again. (19) "No longer will the sun be your light by day Or the moon be your light by night; I, the LORD (יהוה), will be your eternal light; The light of my glory will shine on you. (20) Your days of grief will come to an end. I, the LORD (יהוה), will be your eternal light, More lasting than the sun and moon. (Rev 21:1-4) (21) Your people will all do what is right, And will possess the land forever. I planted them, I made them, To reveal my greatness to all. (22) Even your smallest and humblest family Will become as great as a powerful nation. When the right time comes, I will make this happen quickly. I am the LORD (יהוה)!"

He has sent me to comfort all who mourn, (3) To give to those who mourn in Zion Joy and gladness instead of grief, A song of praise instead of sorrow. They will be like trees That the LORD (יהוה) himself has planted. They will all do what is right, And God will be praised for what he has done. (4) They will rebuild cities that have long been in ruins. (5) My people, foreigners will serve you. They will take care of your flocks And farm your land and tend your vineyards. (6) And you will be known as the priests of the LORD (יהוה), The servants of our God. You will enjoy the wealth of the nations And be proud that it is yours. (7) Your shame and disgrace are ended. You will live in your own land, And your wealth will be doubled; Your joy will last forever. (8) The LORD (יהוה) says, "I love justice and I hate oppression and crime. You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
