Hebrews 5:4-10 GNB . . .No one chooses for himself the honor of being a high priest. It is only by God's call that a man is made a high priest---just as Aaron was. (5) In the same way, Christ did not take upon himself the honor of being a high priest. Instead, God said to him, "You are my Son; today I have become your Father." (Psa. 2:7) (6) He also said in another place, "You will be a priest forever, in the priestly order of Melchizedek." (Psa. 110:4) (7) In his life on earth Jesus made his prayers and requests with loud cries and tears to God, who could save him from death. Because he was humble and devoted, God heard him. (8) But even though he was God's Son, he learned through his sufferings to be obedient. (9) When he was made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all those who obey him, (10) and God declared him to be high priest, in the priestly order of Melchizedek.

All the priests of God under the Jewish arrangement were from the Levitical Priesthood lineage of Aaron; except Melchizedek, who was specially appointed by God, even as Aaron. Jesus Christ was also specifically appointed High priest by God. Jesus being from the line of David and the kings, is thus our High Priest and our King!

Hebrews 5:4-10 CEV . . .But no one can have the honor of being a high priest simply by wanting to be one. Only God can choose a priest, and God is the one who chose Aaron. (5) That is how it was with Christ. He became a high priest, but not just because he wanted the honor of being one. It was God who told him, "You are my Son, because today I have become your Father!" (Psa. 2:7) (6) In another place, God says, "You are a priest forever just like Melchizedek." (Psa. 110:4) (7) God had the power to save Jesus from death. And while Jesus was on earth, he begged God with loud crying and tears to save him. He truly worshiped God, and God listened to his prayers. (8) Jesus is God's own Son, but still he had to suffer before he could learn what it really means to obey God. (9) Suffering made Jesus perfect, and now he can save forever all who obey him. (10) This is because God chose him to be a high priest like Melchizedek.

Hebrews 5:4-10 LITV . . .And no one takes the honor to himself, but he being called by God, even as Aaron was also. (5) So also the Christ has not glorified Himself to become a high priest, but He speaking to Him, "You are My Son; today I have begotten You." (Psa. 2:7) (6) As He also says in another place, "You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek," (Psa. 110:4) (7) who in the days of His flesh was offering both petitions and entreaties to Him being able to save Him from death, with strong crying and tears, and being heard from His godly fear; (8) though being a Son, He learned obedience from what He suffered (9) and having been perfected, He came to be the Author of eternal salvation to all the ones obeying Him, (10) having been called out by God as a High Priest according to the order of Melchizedek.

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
