Water flows from the temple of the LORD (יהוה), bringing life and healing wherever the river goes.
Ezekiel 47:1-12 NIV . . .The man brought me back to the entrance to the temple, and I saw water coming out from under the threshold of the temple toward the east (for the temple faced east). The water was coming down from under the south side of the temple, south of the altar. (2) He then brought me out through the north gate and led me around the outside to the outer gate facing east, and the water was trickling from the south side. (3) As the man went eastward with a measuring line in his hand, he measured off a thousand cubits and then led me through water that was ankle-deep. (4) He measured off another thousand cubits and led me through water that was knee-deep. He measured off another thousand and led me through water that was up to the waist. (5) He measured off another thousand, but now it was a river that I could not cross, because the water had risen and was deep enough to swim in—a river that no one could cross. (6) He asked me, "Son of man, do you see this?" Then he led me back to the bank of the river. (7) When I arrived there, I saw a great number of trees on each side of the river. (8) He said to me, "This water flows toward the eastern region and goes down into the Arabah, where it enters the Dead Sea. When it empties into the sea, the salty water there becomes fresh. (9) Swarms of living creatures will live wherever the river flows. There will be large numbers of fish, because this water flows there and makes the salt water fresh; so where the river flows everything will live. (10) Fishermen will stand along the shore; from En Gedi to En Eglaim there will be places for spreading nets. The fish will be of many kinds—like the fish of the Mediterranean Sea. (11) But the swamps and marshes will not become fresh; they will be left for salt. (12) Fruit trees of all kinds will grow on both banks of the river. Their leaves will not wither, nor will their fruit fail. Every month they will bear fruit, because the water from the sanctuary flows to them. Their fruit will serve for food and their leaves for healing."
Ezekiel 47:1-12 WEB . . .He brought me back to the door of the house; and behold, water flowed out from under the threshold of the house eastward, for the front of the house was toward the east. The water flowed down from underneath, from the right side of the house, on the south of the altar. (2) Then he brought me out by the way of the gate northward, and led me around by the way outside to the outer gate, by the way of the gate that looks toward the east. Behold, water ran out on the right side. (3) When the man went out eastward with the line in his hand, he measured one thousand cubits, and he caused me to pass through the water, water to the ankles. (4) Again he measured one thousand, and caused me to pass through the water, water to the knees. Again he measured one thousand, and caused me to pass through the water, water to the waist. (5) Afterward he measured one thousand; and it was a river that I could not pass through, for the water had risen, water to swim in, a river that could not be walked through. (6) He said to me, "Son of man, have you seen this?" Then he brought me, and caused me to return to the bank of the river. (7) Now when I had returned, behold, on the bank of the river were very many trees on the one side and on the other. (8) Then he said to me, "This water flows out toward the eastern region, and will go down into the Arabah. Then it will go toward the sea; and the water that was salty will be healed. (9) It will happen that every living creature which swarms, in every place where the rivers come, will live. Then there will be a very great multitude of fish; for these waters have come there, and the waters of the sea will be healed, and everything will live wherever the river comes. (10) It will happen that fishermen will stand by it. From En Gedi even to En Eglaim will be a place for the spreading of nets. Their fish will be after their kinds, as the fish of the great sea, exceedingly many. (11) But the miry places of it, and its marshes, will not be healed. They will be given up to salt. (12) By the river on its bank, on this side and on that side, will grow every tree for food, whose leaf won’t wither, neither will its fruit fail. It will produce new fruit every month, because its water flows out of the sanctuary. Its fruit will be for food, and its leaf for healing."
Ezekiel 47:1-12 ESV . . .Then he brought me back to the door of the temple, and behold, water was issuing from below the threshold of the temple toward the east (for the temple faced east). The water was flowing down from below the south end of the threshold of the temple, south of the altar. (2) Then he brought me out by way of the north gate and led me around on the outside to the outer gate that faces toward the east; and behold, the water was trickling out on the south side. (3) Going on eastward with a measuring line in his hand, the man measured a thousand cubits, and then led me through the water, and it was ankle-deep. (4) Again he measured a thousand, and led me through the water, and it was knee-deep. Again he measured a thousand, and led me through the water, and it was waist-deep. (5) Again he measured a thousand, and it was a river that I could not pass through, for the water had risen. It was deep enough to swim in, a river that could not be passed through. (6) And he said to me, "Son of man, have you seen this?" Then he led me back to the bank of the river. (7) As I went back, I saw on the bank of the river very many trees on the one side and on the other. (8) And he said to me, "This water flows toward the eastern region and goes down into the Arabah, and enters the sea; when the water flows into the sea, the water will become fresh. (9) And wherever the river goes, every living creature that swarms will live, and there will be very many fish. For this water goes there, that the waters of the sea may become fresh; so everything will live where the river goes. (10) Fishermen will stand beside the sea. From En Gedi to En Eglaim it will be a place for the spreading of nets. Its fish will be of very many kinds, like the fish of the Great Sea. (11) But its swamps and marshes will not become fresh; they are to be left for salt. (12) And on the banks, on both sides of the river, there will grow all kinds of trees for food. Their leaves will not wither, nor their fruit fail, but they will bear fresh fruit every month, because the water for them flows from the sanctuary. Their fruit will be for food, and their leaves for healing."
Ezekiel 47:1-12 GNB . . .The man took me back to the entrance of the Temple, and I saw water coming out from under the entrance and flowing toward the east. The entrance faced east, and the water flowed out from the south side of the entrance, south of the altar. (2) Then he took me out through the north gate and led me around the outside to the outer gate on the east side, and I saw water coming out on the south side of the gate. (3) With his measuring rod the man measured 560 yards downstream to the east, and told me to wade through the stream there. The water came only to my ankles. (4) Then he measured another 560 yards, and the water came up to my knees. Another 560 yards farther downstream, the water was up to my waist. (5) He measured 560 yards more, and there the stream was so deep I could not wade through it. It was too deep to cross except by swimming. (6) He said to me, "Mortal man, note all this carefully." Then the man took me back to the bank of the river, (7) and when I got there, I saw that there were very many trees on each bank. (8) He said to me, "This water flows through the land to the east and down into the Jordan Valley and to the Dead Sea. When it flows into the Dead Sea, it replaces the salt water of that sea with fresh water. (9) Wherever the stream flows, there will be all kinds of animals and fish. The stream will make the water of the Dead Sea fresh, and wherever it flows, it will bring life. (10) From the Springs of Engedi all the way to the Springs of Eneglaim, there will be fishermen on the shore of the sea, and they will spread out their nets there to dry. There will be as many different kinds of fish there as there are in the Mediterranean Sea. (11) But the water in the marshes and ponds along the shore will not be made fresh. They will remain there as a source of salt. (12) On each bank of the stream all kinds of trees will grow to provide food. Their leaves will never wither, and they will never stop bearing fruit. They will have fresh fruit every month, because they are watered by the stream that flows from the Temple. The trees will provide food, and their leaves will be used for healing people."
Ezekiel 47:1-12 CEV . . .The man took me back to the temple, where I saw a stream flowing from under the entrance of the temple and running east, toward the place where the altar stood. The stream began on the south side of the temple. (2) We walked out of the temple area through the north gate and went around to the east gate. I saw the stream flowing out of the south side of the east gate. (3) The man walked east, then took out his measuring stick and measured five hundred sixty yards downstream. He told me to wade through the stream there, and the water came up to my ankles. (4) Then he measured another five hundred sixty yards downstream, and told me to wade through it there, and the water came up to my knees. Another five hundred sixty yards downstream the water came up to my waist. (5) Another five hundred sixty yards downstream, the stream had become a river that could be crossed only by swimming. (6) The man said, "Ezekiel, son of man, pay attention to what you've seen." We walked to the riverbank, (7) where I saw dozens of trees on each side. (8) The man said: This water flows eastward to the Jordan River valley and empties into the Dead Sea, where it turns the salt water into fresh water. (9) Wherever this water flows, there will be all kinds of animals and fish, because it will bring life and fresh water to the Dead Sea. (10) From En-Gedi to Eneglaim, people will fish in the sea and dry their nets along the coast. There will be as many kinds of fish in the Dead Sea as there are in the Mediterranean Sea. (11) But the marshes along the shore will remain salty, so that people can use the salt from them. (12) Fruit trees will grow all along this river and produce fresh fruit every month. The leaves will never dry out, because they will always have water from the stream that flows from the temple, and they will be used for healing people.

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals. The Translations we quote are:
