••• You should recognize and know "and use" God's Hebrew Name! It is יהוה and sounds like to English speakers... God Himself wrote with his own finger on stone tablets He then gave to Moses. (Exo 31:18) Using the Diving Name of our Creator is a uniting force in this divided world! •••
This account is a preview of our need for faith in the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Our faith preserves us alive during the destruction of this old world system, the same as all the firstborn among Israel.

Exodus 12:22-32 GNB . . .Take a sprig of hyssop, dip it in the bowl containing the animal's blood, and wipe the blood on the doorposts and the beam above the door of your house. Not one of you is to leave the house until morning. (23) When the LORD  (יהוה) goes through Egypt to kill the Egyptians, he will see the blood on the beams and the doorposts and will not let the Angel of Death enter your houses and kill you. (24) You and your children must obey these rules forever. (25) When you enter the land that the LORD  (יהוה) has promised to give you, you must perform this ritual. (26) When your children ask you, 'What does this ritual mean?' (27) you will answer, 'It is the sacrifice of Passover to honor the LORD  (יהוה), because he passed over the houses of the Israelites in Egypt. He killed the Egyptians, but spared us.' " The Israelites knelt down and worshiped. (28) Then they went and did what the LORD  (יהוה) had commanded Moses and Aaron. (29) At midnight the LORD  (יהוה) killed all the first-born sons in Egypt, from the king's son, who was heir to the throne, to the son of the prisoner in the dungeon; all the first-born of the animals were also killed. (30) That night, the king, his officials, and all the other Egyptians were awakened. There was loud crying throughout Egypt, because there was not one home in which there was not a dead son. (31) That same night the king sent for Moses and Aaron and said, "Get out, you and your Israelites! Leave my country; go and worship the LORD  (יהוה), as you asked. (32) Take your sheep, goats, and cattle, and leave. Also pray for a blessing on me."

Exodus 12:22-32 GW . . .Take the branch of a hyssop plant, dip it in the blood which is in a bowl, and put some of the blood on the top and sides of the doorframes of your houses. No one may leave the house until morning. (23) The LORD  (יהוה) will go throughout Egypt to kill the Egyptians. When he sees the blood on the top and sides of the doorframe, he will pass over that doorway, and he will not let the destroyer come into your home to kill you. (24) "You must follow these instructions. They are a permanent law for you and your children. (25) When you enter the land that the LORD  (יהוה) will give you as he promised, observe this ceremony. (26) When your children ask you what this ceremony means to you, (27) you must answer, 'It's the Passover sacrifice in the LORD  (יהוה)'S honor. The LORD  (יהוה) passed over the houses of the Israelites in Egypt and spared our homes when he killed the Egyptians.'" Then the people knelt, bowing with their faces touching the ground. (28) The Israelites did as the LORD  (יהוה) had commanded Moses and Aaron. (29) At midnight the LORD  (יהוה) killed every firstborn male in Egypt from the firstborn son of Pharaoh who ruled the land to the firstborn son of the prisoner in jail, and also every firstborn animal. (30) Pharaoh, all his officials, and all the other Egyptians got up during the night. There was loud crying throughout Egypt because in every house someone had died. (31) Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron during the night. He said, "You and the Israelites must leave my people at once. Go, worship the LORD  (יהוה) as you asked. (32) Take your flocks and herds, too, as you asked. Just go! And bless me, too!"

Exodus 12:22-32 NWT . . .And YOU must take a bunch of hyssop and dip it into the blood in a basin and strike upon the upper part of the doorway and upon the two doorposts some of the blood that is in the basin; and none of YOU should go out of the entrance of his house until morning. 23 Then when Jehovah  (יהוה) does pass through to plague the Egyptians and does see the blood upon the upper part of the doorway and upon the two doorposts, Jehovah  (יהוה) will certainly pass over the entrance, and he will not allow the ruination to enter into YOUR houses to plague YOU. 24 “And YOU must keep this thing as a regulation for you and your sons to time indefinite. 25 And it must occur that when YOU come into the land that Jehovah  (יהוה) will give YOU, just as he has stated, then YOU must keep this service. 26 And it must occur that when YOUR sons say to YOU, ‘What does this service mean to YOU?’ 27 then YOU must say, ‘It is the sacrifice of the passover to Jehovah  (יהוה), who passed over the houses of the sons of Israel in Egypt when he plagued the Egyptians, but he delivered our houses.’” Then the people bowed low and prostrated themselves. 28 Subsequently the sons of Israel went and did just as Jehovah  (יהוה) had commanded Moses and Aaron. They did just so. 29 And it came about that at midnight Jehovah  (יהוה) struck every firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Phar´aoh sitting on his throne to the firstborn of the captive who was in the prison hole, and every firstborn of beast. 30 Then Phar´aoh got up at night, he and all his servants and all [other] Egyptians; and there began arising a great outcry among the Egyptians, because there was not a house where there was not one dead. 31 At once he called Moses and Aaron by night and said: “Get up, get out from the midst of my people, both YOU and the [other] sons of Israel, and go, serve Jehovah  (יהוה), just as YOU have stated. 32 Take both YOUR flocks and YOUR herds, just as YOU have stated, and go. Also, YOU must bless me besides.”

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
