Daniel 12:1-4 MWT . . .The angel wearing linen clothes said, "At that time the great angel Michael, who guards your people, will appear. Then there will be a time of troubles, the worst since nations first came into existence. When that time comes, all the people of your nation whose names are written in God's book (Mal 3:16-4:3) will be saved. (2) Many of those who have already died will live again: some will enjoy eternal life, and some will suffer judgment. (3) The wise leaders will shine with all the brightness of the sky. And those who have taught many people to do what is right will shine like the stars forever." (4) He said to me, "And now, Daniel, close the book and put a seal on it until the end of the world. At that time many will rove about in it, and the true knowledge will become abundant."
Different scholars have translated the words from verse 4 variously as meaning "to run quickly, to run about in," or, "to run up and down in." The Gesenius Hebrew and Chaldee Lexicon says the verb being translated means "to run through a book, that is, to examine it thoroughly, Daniel 12:4." Daniel was obviously telling us knowledge of God's truth would become abundant throughout the earth in these "end of days" we live in. Daniel 12:1-4 ESV . . ."At that time shall arise Michael, the great prince who has charge of your people. And there shall be a time of trouble, such as never has been since there was a nation till that time. But at that time your people shall be delivered, everyone whose name shall be found written in the book. (Mal 3:16-4:3) (2) And many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt. (3) And those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the sky above; and those who turn many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever. (4) But you, Daniel, shut up the words and seal the book, until the time of the end. Many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase."

Daniel 12:1-4 GW . . .The person who looked like a human continued, "At that time Michael, the great commander, will stand up on behalf of the descendants of your people. It will be a time of trouble unlike any that has existed from the time there have been nations until that time. But at that time your people, everyone written in the book, (Mal 3:16-4:3) will be rescued. (2) Many sleeping in the ground will wake up. Some will wake up to live forever, but others will wake up to be ashamed and disgraced forever. (3) Those who are wise will shine like the brightness on the horizon. Those who lead many people to righteousness will shine like the stars forever and ever. (4) "But you, Daniel, keep these words secret, and seal the book until the end times. Many will travel everywhere, and knowledge will grow."

Daniel 12:1-4 CEV . . .Michael, the chief of the angels, is the protector of your people, and he will come at a time of terrible suffering, the worst in all of history. And your people who have their names written in The Book (Mal 3:16-4:3) will be protected. (2) Many of those who lie dead in the ground will rise from death. Some of them will be given eternal life, and others will receive nothing but eternal shame and disgrace. (3) Everyone who has been wise will shine as bright as the sky above, and everyone who has led others to please God will shine like the stars. (4) Daniel, I now command you to keep the message of this book secret until the end of time, even though many people will go everywhere, searching for the knowledge to be found in it.

Daniel 12:1-4 NWT . . .“And during that time Mi´cha·el will stand up, the great prince who is standing in behalf of the sons of your people. And there will certainly occur a time of distress such as has not been made to occur since there came to be a nation until that time. And during that time your people will escape, every one who is found written down in the book. (Mal 3:16-4:3) 2 And there will be many of those asleep in the ground of dust who will wake up, these to indefinitely lasting life and those to reproaches [and] to indefinitely lasting abhorrence. 3 “And the ones having insight will shine like the brightness of the expanse; and those who are bringing the many to righteousness, like the stars to time indefinite, even forever. 4 “And as for you, O Daniel, make secret the words and seal up the book, until the time of [the] end. Many will rove about, and the [true] knowledge will become abundant.”
